SCOTLAND

Dollar Glen, Perthshire

From Dollar Town, follow from the steep path up Dollar Glen alongside the burns of Sorrow and Care to the bewitching ruin of Castle Campbell. Magnificent rowan or mountain ash contends with silver birch, golden oak and crimson hawthorn. Dollar Glen boasts a myriad of wild fruit, and the rowan berries provide blazes of scarlet set against a fiery backdrop.

Royal Botanic Garden- Inverleith Row, Edinburgh

One mile from Edinburgh city centre, seventy acres of arboretum are set ablaze each autumn by the changing leaves. The Lavalle’s cork tree, with its canopy of green and yellow foliage mingles with the red, yellow and gold of rowan berries and whitebeams.
