Welcome to Miami!

Swaying palm trees, gleaming azure sea, iconic Art Deco buildings, a world-famous gay party scene and The Golden Girls; yes, Miami has it all! There’s never really a bad time to visit this exhilarating city but over the next couple of months, with average temperatures in the mid- 70s, Miami is playing host to so many world-renowned events, it’s putting New York to shame! Here’s a rundown of the best Miami has to offer…

Winter Party

The gay mecca of South Beach, Miami, will be kicking up its heels once again during the annual Winter Party from February 29- March 5! The event was created in 1993 in response to a statewide “threat against gay and lesbian civil rights” and it is now a successful party fundraiser which benefits the Dade Human Rights Foundation. Daytime events include huge beach parties which move on to some of the coolest South Beach clubs and hotels when the sun goes down. Thousands of partygoers descend on Miami each year to experience 6 days of dancing, DJs and entertainment!

Miami Music Week

Kicking off Miami’s week long music extravaganza, the Winter Music Conference, in its 27th consecutive year, will run from 16-25 March. Attracting thousands of artists and music industry delegates from 70 countries, this industry event will include over 400 parties, seminars and workshops. If you don’t work in the music industry, however, fear not! Miami’s Ultra Music Festival brings together the world’s top DJs at the Bayfront Park Ampitheatre over the weekend of 23-25 March. The self-proclaimed, premiere electronic music festival’s eclectic lineup this year includes Kraftwerk, Tiesto, Justice, New Order, David Guetta and 2 Many DJs, so there’s something in there for every fan of the genre!

Miami Beach International Fashion Week

If you’re more interested in Karl Lagerfeld than Carl Cox, Miami Beach International Fashion Week which runs from 21-24 March at the Miami Beach Convention Center, may be the event for you! As one of the largest fashion events in the USA, Miami Fashion Week will showcase collections from established and new designers from Latin America and the Caribbean.

Miami International Boat Show

Miami wouldn’t be Miami without the glitz and glamour of its International Boat Show! The Sea Isle Marina and Miamarina will host seafaring events from 16-20 February, while the Miami Beach Convention Center is the place to go if you’re in the market for boats, accessories and nautical clothing!

Miami International Film Festival

From 2-11 March, the Miami International Film Festival will be returning for its 29th year at the Miami-Dade Community College. 250 international films from 40 countries will be showcased alongside outreach events and press screenings. Darling Companion (starring Diane Keaton), Mariachi Gringo and Juan of the Dead (a Cuban zombie comedy) are among the films which will be featured throughout the week.
